I bought a return ticket from Victoria to Leigh, via Hever, for a bit under 11 pounds (June 2008).

Thanks for the info, Anonymous. On the National Rail site, I entered a (rather silly) journey "Victoria to Leigh via Hever" and it does indeed give a fare of £7.05 (with Network Card). This is exactly the same if you omit "via Hever". It's impressive if you actually got a ticket clerk to specify "via Hever" on your ticket: our feedback is that inspectors have been reluctant to accept a normal Leigh ticket on the train to Hever. I'll update the Walk Notes.

I tried to buy a return ticket from London Bridge to Leigh, via Hever, as suggested, today (Aug 2008). No luck, they couldn't do it. So the cheapest option for me was to buy a return ticket to Hever, with a single from Leigh to Croydon Stations (about 15 pounds but less with the rail card and travel card).
