Major Update: The recommended lunchtime Pub is now the Padworth Arms.
This is a lovely walk. The route passes Igtham Mote (now re-opened) and the dramatic and very large Knole Palace (both National Trust). The palace is set in a pretty deer park. Fully revised in Aug-08. The former lunchtime pub (The Snail) is now a restaurant and doesn't welcome walkers, although you can use its beer garden in summer (booking is recommended). The route change is in the revised version (link above), but briefly After: "In 750 meters you come out on to a car road" |

A walker comments:
"The lunch spot does in fact only serve lunch until 2, not 2.30 as the book states. The oak tree in sevenoaks prep school has been cut down - the stump is there but surrounding by chairs so wasn't immediately obvious" |
