Walk 7 : Henley via Hambleden Circular

[Aug04][Jul06], p83 Lunch and Tea places: Crispins is apparently now permanently closed. A walker reports (August 06): "Last Saturday, three of us had the pleasure of meeting the charming proprietor on the steps of Crispins. He has been running the place for 35 years including 10 years at another location just down the road from the current premises. In 1981, he bought the current site. Initially, he and his wife lived upstairs but later they moved to a village nearby and the upstairs were rented out as flats. Three years ago, he had some health problems which led his eventual decision to sell out this year. We had the honour to be the last customer to receive his menu. The new owner plans to convert Crispins into a trendy bar. We wished him all the best for the future."
