Did the short walk starting at Coulsdon. A pleasent walk, especially as so close to London.

Parking on streets near Couldson South station, is "residents only" between 11 and 12noon, otherwise free. There is parking on Farthing Down itself however.

Numbers on the gates on Farthing Down mentioned in the directions have gone, but the walks was easy to follow.

Lunchtime pub is a chain pub, quite nice with a large beer garden, newspapers, and real ale. Food was a tad expensive but was good.

There were three confused walkers at the beginning of this walk using the Time Out Guide. Paragraph 4: There is no wooden gate (no 22). You should not go through the wooden gate on the left in 120 metres but keep going up the path with the wood on your left for about a mile. There are no numbers on the gates and furthermore there are no gates to your right hand side, they are to your left. Their directions are correct from '...immediately after passing through two.....'
