Other London Based Walking Clubs
So, you want to walk further, higher, ... then there are dozens of other groups based in London and the home counties, too many to list, but here are a few.Groups that Walk in the Southeast
- Central London Outdoors Group (also weekend trips)
- Long Distance Walkers Association: London and Thames Valley branches
- The Ramblers Association has many local walking groups in and around London & the Home Counties. Some of the groups are for younger walkers (20's-30's), but most seem to be for less young walkers. The Central London ones tend to be public transport based, the outer London/home counties ones car based (sometimes with car sharing).
- Outsiders Walking Club : A London based club that does day walks and some weekends away, and helped walk-check book 2.
- Surrey Walking Club: Longer walks (including 100 mile walks!) and race walking

- St Francis Ramblers : A Catholic Rambling Club affiliated to Westminster Cathedral.
- Hiking Dykes
- Red Rope (London Branch - walks in the southeast). The club is socialist in the sense that membership rates and trip costs are based on ability to pay, and aims to be non-sexist, non-racist and actively supportive to child-carers... There is no requirement to belong to a political party
- The Alpine Club For Alpine climbers only, rather than walkers, but seeing as how I made the effort to look at its website...
