Box Hill Circular. 2/2/18.

A pretty decent work-out today, albeit within only 10 miles! Setting out from the station, the walk starts to follow a clockwise climb from the off, incorporating Norbury Park nature reserve; Mickleham Downs and Headley Heath. With any climb up, there's always the reward of fine views though and these Surrey Hills provide some good examples. No church lunch-stop on this walk as one wasn't passed. Indeed, due to the shortness of time, no pit-stop was had until near the end, with fine views over Brockham. For the same reason, this walker decided to end the walk at Dorking, with its more frequent train service, rather than at Box Hill. A nice, challenging walk, with its ups and downs, but a varied one, with meadows, heath and woodland. Perfect for the shorter days of Winter, though drier ones, preferably!

Boxhill Circular. 30/11/18.

Around 7 miles of walking in the popular Surrey Hills, on a pleasant Winter's day. Shortly after leaving the station, the walker is passing the vineyards at Denbies, and, shortly after that, crossing the River Mole. This is then followed by a fairly steep ascent of Box Hill, which is rewarded with some decent views. The walker then passes Salomons' viewpoint, and so on through Ashurst Rough. However, instead of following the new route via Juniper Top, this walker elected to take the original route, via the valley, before steeply ascending White Hill. Lunch is had at St Michael and All Angels, Mickleham, prior to another crossing of the A24. At this point, the walker chose to take the higher path back to Box Hill station. This repeats some of swcwalk 64, in reverse, done earlier this year. A decent work-out for the shorter days, albeit when it's not too wet underfoot; the chalky paths might be hazardous.

Box Hill SWC Winter Hike, December 2017. GoPro Hero 5 Black.

Nice hike around the beautiful Box Hill, Surrey and it's surroundings. Based on the Box Hill Circular walk from Saturday Walkers Club (had to cut it a bit short due to time constraints). Filmed with GoPro Hero 5 Black Mounted on GoPro Karma Grip. NOTE. seems I messed up the contrast in some scenes. Will re-edit.
