A very pleasant 8.5 miles of walking in Surrey, undertaken on an overcast afternoon, with occasional sunny intervals. The route mainly utilises the wooded Greensand Way ridge, though the beginning and end include pasture and arable fields. There was no appropriately placed church on this walk, so lunch was had in Tilburstowhill plantation, though alternative lunch options exist in Bletchingley or Tandridge. The paths were reasonable today, with occasional flooded or muddy sections; these will likely deteriorate as the winter progresses. There was also a busy 'A' road to cross and two sections of fairly busy roads to walk along. Due to the breeze, the traffic noise from the M23, or, later, the A22, was never far off, and there was also some Gatwick aircraft noise at the outset.
