No Major Changes.

A lovely walk along the South Downs ridge with nice views.

The friends of Jack and Jill windmill's near the start sometimes serve tea on weekends.

This is a good walk for a picnic, as the lunchtime pub is at the bottom of the ridge. The route invloves going down to the pub, then coming back up to the ridge again afterwards.

Car drivers: Park at Hassocks Station (not free), or a little along the route (free). You'll need to change trains at Wivesfield to return to your car.

p228 col 1, para 1 : Continue at 80 degrees to keep the wood close to your left. When you have wood ahead as well as on your left, follow the blue arrow left into the wood on a clear path. Then follow a blue arrow through the wooden swing gate (para 2).

An hourly bus - the 79 - runs in summer months from Brighton to Ditchling Beacon, about a third of the way through this walk. See www.buses.co.uk for details
