A walk from Croydon to the sea designed and maintained by the Vanguard Walking Club. It passes through Surrey, Kent and East Sussex. On the way, it crossing the North Downs, and heads south via Forest Row (Winnie the Pooh country) and undualating lowlands to the South Downs and the Seven Sisters (chalk cliffs), finishing at Newhaven.
Detailed instructions are available from the Vanguard Way website, but you will need OS maps as well. Logistically, the walk is great, many train stations and bus stops are passed on the way, as well as country pubs and pretty villages.
