Boadella Beach - Lloret de Mar Costa Brava
Official. Beautiful sandy cove. Beach Cafe. Easy walk from free parking.
Sa Boadella is small (310m by 35m) but very beautiful cove, backed by high, pine tree covered, hills. It is traditionally used by naturists (so says the official sign!), it was originally just a corner, but now it the whole beach. It is south west (walking distance) of the mega tourist resort of Lloret de Mar's Fenals beach hotel zone, on the Costa Brava, which is about 50 miles from Barcelona.
The beach is south west of Lloret, just after the headland with the small but pretty cliff top botanical garden of Jardin de Santa Clotilde. There is a signposted footpath down to the beach. There is also a path to a hermitage, and the next beach of Santa Cristina.
Its about 200 metres gently downhill to the beach. There is a Beach Bar (Sa Boadella, tourist prices), but not much shade. The small sandy cove is backed by steep pine covered hills.
The beach is popular - even on an early October weekday, it was busy.
By Car: From the south west (the from Barcelona / Blanes direction) on road 682), pass a roundabout with an exit to Santa Cristina beach. At the next roundabout, on the edge of town, head south signposted Boadella and Jardin de Santa Clotilde) on Av. de Fenals, then right (south) on C. del Marfull to the junction with Avinguada de Sa Boadella. Park near here for free. Head right on Sa Boadella for 50m then leave the road, left, on a signposted footpath for 200m down to the beach.
By Foot: In Lloret de Mar, its near the Jardin de Santa Clotilde, west of the tourist hotel zone (Fenals Beach) - about 1.5 miles west of the town centre. From the entrance to the gardens, follow Avinguada de Sa Boadella (right of the garden entrance) for 100m, then left on a signposted footpath. Its a gentle 200m downhill to the beach.
