This was a splendid 16 mile walk through some of this walker's favourite countryside - The High Weald. A varied walk of pasture, woods, gurgling streams and even a lake! Lunch was had on one of the conveniently located seats at Slaugham Common Lake.
The weather was glorious as well, though some of the minor paths were very overgrown.
This was actually the 'shorter', 13 mile version of the walk, but, due to paucity of instructions towards the end, this walker ended up walking 16 miles anyway. A great walk, none-the-less!
N.B. It was a Brown Hawker Dragon Fly seen by the lake, I believe.
