This was the shortened version of this walk, with the 'gentler' ending, but still registered around 13 miles. Undertaken on a hot sunny day in late summer, this version is a good one for such weather as it incorporates a lot of tree cover, and a large 'pond' and beach for swimming.
Lunch is had up on Frensham Common, amongst the heather, gorse and sand, with some fine views.
Thereafter, the shorter option, through the trees, is taken to Tilford, and then the more scenic, and gentler, ending is followed along The Greensand way, passing Moor Park. A brief section of the North Downs Way follows.
An excellent walk, spoilt only by the crowds at 'Go-Ape', in the rather commercial forest of Alice Holt.
P.S. The floristry school mentioned was previously a Jane Packer school, not Jane Packham.
