Rain for a time Thursday, turning drier from the northwest.
This Evening and Tonight:
It will be dry although breezy through much of the night with variable cloud. Around dawn, rain may start to arrive in the northwest of the area. Minimum Temperature 14C.
Rain, heavy at times, will move southeastwards through the day. It will become drier and sunnier from the northwest during the afternoon, with rain clearing all but Kent by evening. Maximum Temperature 22C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Friday and Saturday mainly dry with bright spells, although often breezy. Turning cloudier Sunday with outbreaks of rain and remaining breezy. Warm in brighter spells.
Day 6 to 15
Next week is expected to stay breezy across northern and western areas with occasional light rain or drizzle. Bright or sunny spells are more likely across central, southern and eastern areas and it will feel increasingly warm and humid across England and Wales. It may be very warm where there is prolonged sunshine. There will probably be a good deal of dry and bright weather in the south and east over the coming days, with only brief interludes of thicker cloud and rain. As a result, this part of the country may well stay very warm and humid. This pattern is quite likely to continue into the following week, with warm dry weather predominating, especially in the south, and longer spells of rain and wind more likely in the north.
Day 16 to 30
During this period it looks likely that the weather pattern will only change slowly. High pressure will tend to dominate with southern areas probably seeing the driest and brightest weather. Further outbreaks of rain and strong winds may move across the north, and perhaps sink southeastwards at times. Into September, confidence in the forecast decreases. However, we will probably see longer dry and settled spells at times, these perhaps becoming more dominant in the north and northwest. Temperatures by day are likely to be generally warmer than average, but there will an increasing chance of chillier nights.
