This was a typical Wealden wonder of around 12 miles in West Sussex. Plenty of Oaks in lovely mixed woodland and there seemed to be a Robin accompanying the walker for the duration!

There was a bit of an urban start, prior to reaching said woodlands, but even that was through parks and nature reserves.

Lunch was had very slightly off route at Scaynes Hill church, prior to crossing more fields, a disused canal and the river Ouse. Shortly after, the Bluebell Railway line is crossed, with the walker being fortunate enough to meet one of the steam trains.

Thereafter, Bluebell Vineyard is passed before returning back to the attractive village of Lindfield, and so back along the morning route to the station, where a late-opening Waitrose cafe offers decent refreshment!

A good, early Autumnal walk that wasn't overly waterlogged today. There are a number of variations, to suit the time of year and catching a steam train as well.
