Henley to Pangbourne walk

Another lovely country ramble, and the perfect pub crawl. Starts and finishes by the Thames, via forests and several country pubs.

Time Out Walks, Book 1, Walk 51. Henley to Pangbourne. 6/11/11.

A delightful 12 miles through the Western Chilterns. Starting by the River Thames in the Berkshire town of Henley, the walker is soon passing through some seasonally colourful scenery on the way to Rotherfield Greys; thereafter, it's lunch at Rotherfield Peppard before passing through some lovely woodlands, with some quiet road walking thrown in (though the busy A4074 has to be navigated!). After further delightful woodland scenes, the scenery opens up towards the end of the walk near Whitchurch, and a large Alpaca farm comes into view. After that, it's over The Thames via a toll bridge and on to Pangbourne. A lovely walk for catching some delightful Autumn colours, which I hope I've managed to here.
