A new walk to this walker, and another Wealden Wonder! This one being around 10 miles and undertaken on a pleasant, late summer afternoon with sunny intervals and little breeze. It's classic Weald, with quiet lanes, pastures (though not as many cows as in some parts of the Weald!), plenty of woodlands and some great views, but the Gatwick air traffic detracts somewhat. An early lunch could be had at the pub in Markbeech (or the Holy Trinity church grounds), but the recommended pub is later at Cowden. This walker utilising St Mary Magdalene church though. The path surfaces were good today, but, as always with the Weald, this isn't always the case, even when the paths include The Vanguard way and The Sussex Border Path. The watercourses were very low and dry, reflecting both our ever increasing population. and the dry summer. N.B. The deer may well be Roe, and not the Fallow mentioned on commentary.
