A satisfactory 11.9 mile walk in South Northamptonshire, with occasional forays into Oxfordshire, so close is the border. It was a lovely Autumn day and the walk was definitely 'country'. Some might consider the terrain of field-margins and field crossings a bit mundane, and, after rain, a bit of a trudge, but it was o.k. It would definitely suit those that enjoy a beer on their walks as each of the four villages encountered had a pub, unusually.
The hum of the M40 wasn't too bad today, and disappears after Souldern anyway.
Lunch was had at St Mary's Church, Souldern.
Good, clear instructions and little in the way of over-grown vegetation to tackle. And, being arable territory, no cattle! A decent day's walking.
