Wickham Market to Aldeburgh walk

Blaxhall Common, Suffolk heathlands (the Sandlings), Snape Maltings for lunch, the historic Sailors’ Path along the River Alde estuary along, then either the seawall around Aldeburgh Marshes or a shortcut to seaside Aldeburgh.

Blaxhall to Aldeburgh. 8.4.15

Around 10 miles of walking between Blaxhall Youth Hostel and the sea side resort of Aldeburgh, in Suffolk. Decided to film this walk at the last minute and didn't have the handicam, hence the 'mobile' quality. It follows the 'Sandlings Walk', initially, crossing sandy, lowland heath before joining up with 'The Sailors' Path' at Snape Maltings. This is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the path crossing marshland and fresh water dykes; otters can be found here, though none were seen today. There's a bit of mundane road walking after this, but, the walker soon arrives at the seaside town of Aldeburgh, where some pretty decent fish and chips can be had. The walk concludes with a short trip along the shingly beach and then Aldeburgh Marshes. Mobile phone quality; some wind interference.
