swcwalks, book 2, walk 14b, Westhumble Circular. 29/1/20.
amib, Feb-20

Another update of a walk previously undertaken a decade ago. This one being the 8.2 mile West Humble Circular, introducing around 3.4 miles of new terrain. The weather was excellent, being sunny and cold, which allowed for some great views. The walk goes through the National Trust's Polesden Lacey estate, some quiet valleys and woodland, and near the end, what used to be England's largest vineyard (soon to be superceded by the Vineyard Farms organic estate, Luddesdown). Lunch is had in a lovely orchard on the Polesden Estate, but there's a fine Trust cafe at The Granary, if preferred. This is another example of the quality of the original 'Time Out' walks. Great walking notes, close to London, yet surprisingly rural. Highly recommended!
