A revisit to a walk last undertaken in 2011, but not fully completed on video then (albeit the walk has changed somewhat since then) due to poor weather. This 12.7 miler on the Surrey/Kent borders was ideal for the breezy conditions today as it was mainly in the woods, thus eliminating any wind issues. It was an afternoon mix of overcast and sunny intervals.

This walk covers different terrain to a recent circular of Oxted as it sets off in an easterly direction across the National Trust's Limpsfield Common, High Chart and Squerryes Park.

Lunch is had at St Mary's church, Westerham, where statues of Churchill and James Wolfe can be found on the village green.

For contrast, after lunch, the initial walking is up the Darent Valley, but the walker is soon back in the woods, ascending up to Crockhamhill Common.

These woods lead back to Limpsfield Chart, traversed in the earlier part of the walk, through more woods and a golf course to Limpsfield, and so back to Oxted.

A very good walk indeed, with plenty of bird-song, though no Swallows or Martins today. The paths were decent underfoot, for the most part, and, as is often the case in this area, quiet. There were many reminders of the forthcoming Coronation around.

It was useful to have both the GPX track and the walk notes today as the sections over Crockhamhill Common could be confusing.

Around 13.2 miles of walking on the Kent/Surrey border through the wooded Greensand Hills. Shortly after leaving Oxted, the walker is soon at Limpsfield Church; thereafter, a number of wooded paths, including The Greensand Way, take the walker into Westerham for lunch.

After lunch, the walker ascends Hosey Hill to enter Tower Wood and then on to Chartwell for the return to Oxted.

A very pleasant walk despite the variable weather (pretty much all of part 3 in the walking notes could not be filmed due to the rain but this was pretty much inside woodland).
