Rye, Dungeness and Lydd-on-Sea walk

Interesting coastal walk past an extra wide beach framed by sand dunes and an army range to an eerie shingle desert landscape with decommissioned nuclear power stations. Return by bus.

This was a routine 12 mile walk around the Cinque Port of Rye on another lovely Summer's day. Out along the sea-wall of the River Rother; over an old 3' gauge tram line; across a famous sandy beach and then through grassy marsh-land and arable fields; past a wind-farm and an unusual 'barn' church, and so back to Rye station.

A decent leg stretcher, but not a walk full of wonderful, varied scenery. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though and this walk simply reflects the different geography to be found in the South East.
