An 11 miler through the Oxfordshire section of the Chiltern Hills Extension. Leaving Shiplake station, the walker is soon by the Thames and following The Thames Path. Then, it's up past Shiplake Church and onward through woodland to Crowsley Park. Lunch can be had at either early on at Binfield Heath (pub looks nicer) or 4 km later at Rotherfield Greys (early start or fast pace needed to meet 2 pm deadline). Thereafter, though shorter, the afternoon section is quieter and more attractive, in this walker's opinion; passing through Greys Green, and the National Trust's Greys Court Estate, it's on through Lambridge beech woods and then a golf course. Passing George Harrison's former home at Friar Park, it's then on through Henley to the station. Not a bad walk though a tad 'busy' in places. Very precarious on a Sunday, with it's hourly train connection at Twyford; delays meant this walker's connection didn't happen, resulting in a rushed walk!
