It was a gloomy January day on the south coast of England and the mists were beginning to roll in... Would we make it back to Eastbourne in time? Presented in glorious black and white with maximum grain to add to the sense of tension.

Around 13 miles of walking along the coast, over the Seven Sisters via Birling Gap, up the Cuckmere valley and onto Exceat, where it is possible to end the walk after around 10 miles to get the bus back into Eastbourne.
As the afternoon turned out very pleasant, this walker chose to extend the walk, with the intention of finishing at Birling Gap, but, as the last bus back from there is around 6.45 p.m, the walk was terminated at East Dean. From Exceat, it's a very pleasant section of forest walking through Friston Forest to reach this point. There's then a very regular bus into Eastbourne.
The walk could also be shortened to around 7 miles by turning inland just after Birling Gap to terminate at East Dean.
Either ways, some delightful views to be had!
A delightful 10.5 mile walk along the clifftops of East Sussex; taking in Beachy Head, Birling Gap, and Cuckmere Valley.
