Another fine walk across The South Downs, albeit only 7 miles. A further 4.5 miles is added with a coastal walk into Brighton.

Leaving Lewes, the walker is soon into the countryside and ascending The Downs for some glorious views back over the town and its castle, and The Ouse Valley towards the coast.

Walking along the ridge top over Swanborough Hill, there are further views of the coast ahead before leaving The South Downs Way to walk along quieter paths into Rottingdean for lunch.

Thereafter, it's a straight-forward walk along the esplanade, beside chalk cliffs and past the marina, into bustling Brighton for the train home.
