Dry, mostly cloudy today and Friday.

Dry across the region today. Mostly cloudy, although some brighter spells may develop at times, particularly this afternoon. Feeling warm where the sun breaks through. Light westerly winds. Maximum Temperature 16C.

Cloudy but dry this evening. Most places overcast through the rest of the night, some clear spells developing in the far southeast. A light southwesterly breeze. Minimum Temperature 7C.

Dry but mostly cloudy. Brighter during the afternoon, perhaps some sunshine in places. Dry during evening, but with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading from the northwest overnight. Maximum Temperature 14C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Cloudy Saturday with patchy rain or drizzle, brighter later. A chilly start Sunday, then dry with sunny spells. Cloudier on Monday, perhaps some rain at times.

Day 6 to 15

On Monday the far southwest will probably have a dry day with sunny spells, but elsewhere it will be cloudier with showers. Windy for many, with a risk of gales in the northeast and east. Through much of the rest of the week high pressure is expected to dominate, bringing some fine and dry weather, especially in the east and southeast. However the far northwest will be breezier and cloudier, with occasional outbreaks of rain. During the final days of March and into the start of April the changeable conditions in the northwest are likely to become more widespread. Temperatures often close to normal in the north, but with some warmer periods elsewhere, particularly during the earlier part of this period.

Day 16 to 30

During the first week of April it looks most likely that we will see changeable conditions more widely across the UK. Wet and windy weather may be interspersed with drier and brighter spells, with the most unsettled conditions still probable in the north. By the middle of the month confidence is low, however there is a possibility that we may see a return of more widely settled, drier weather. Some wetter interludes are still likely at times, particularly in the northwest, and with showers perhaps coming up from the south at times. Temperatures overall probably a little warmer than average, but they may fall nearer to normal for a time early in the month.
